About

Pakistan's most visited hill station, perched on a ridge in the Pir Panjal range above Islamabad. Popular year-round — for cool summers and snowfall in winter — with a Victorian-era mall, pine forests, and easy access from the capital.

History

Murree was developed as a sanatorium by the British East India Company in 1851 to provide relief from Rawalpindi's summer heat. It served as the summer headquarters of the Punjab government and remained a favourite British retreat until 1947.
