About

A lush alpine meadow at the foot of Nanga Parbat — the world's ninth-highest peak — offering one of the most dramatic mountain views on earth. Accessible only by jeep track and a steep 3-hour hike from Raikot Bridge.

History

The meadow was named by German mountaineers attempting Nanga Parbat in the 1930s. The mountain itself, known as 'Killer Mountain', claimed 31 lives before Hermann Buhl made its first ascent in 1953 — solo and without supplemental oxygen.
