About

The most popular mountain resort town in KPK, set in the Kaghan Valley along the Kunhar River. A base for visiting Lake Saiful Muluk, Lulusar Lake, and crossing the Babusar Pass into Gilgit-Baltistan.

History

Naran developed as a tourist destination in the 1970s after the construction of the road through Kaghan Valley. The town sits near the site of ancient Gandharan settlements that traded along the trans-Himalayan routes.
