About

One of Pakistan's most spectacular high-altitude lakes, sitting at 3,700m in the upper reaches of Neelum Valley. Surrounded by snow-streaked ridges and fed by glacial melt, the lake's brilliant turquoise water makes it a standout destination for trekkers willing to make the full-day approach from Dowarian.

History

Ratti Gali was largely unknown outside local communities until social media exposure in the mid-2010s brought it to national attention. The rapid surge in visitors prompted AJK's tourism department to introduce a permit system and basic camping regulations to protect the fragile alpine ecosystem.
