About

A forested hilltop plateau in Kaghan Valley accessible by jeep from Balakot, offering wide panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks including Musa Ka Musalla and Makra. A cooler, quieter alternative to Naran with excellent camping meadows at Siri Paye above.

History

Shogran emerged as a tourist destination in the 1980s when the jeep track was extended from Kewai. It was heavily affected by the 2005 Kashmir earthquake, which triggered numerous landslides in the area and temporarily closed the road for several seasons.
